So our washer broke the other day…
After a service call to Appliance Rescue, and a diagnosis of “Faulty Main Control Board and/or Analog Pressure Switch” from Mitch I got a quick edumacation about my washer machine’s model number, serial number, parts numbers, service guides etc. and had to dig out the quarters for the laundromat for a while.
Main control board came in last night and after attempting to disassemble the whole front panel, it turns out that (like the song) you can just “Slide to the Left” and the control board pops right out. Unfortunately changing the control board didn’t fix the problem (d’oh) but fortunately the Analog Pressure Sensor Switch came in 12 days earlier than promised (they told me it was been backordered but I guess we got lucky).
I had it installed with just a hop, skip, a jump, and a T20 bit and am currently running through a first test load of laundry. Yay!
I can now add “Appliance Repair - Washing Machine” next to my “Car Stereo Installation” Merit Badges. Feels pretty good to be able to fix stuff and a huge shout out to Dave from ultimate for putting up with my questions.
